FAQs
Who is Erik Lassi?
I’m a writer, photographer, painter, and composer based in Colorado. My work explores intersections of trauma, memory, technology, and human endurance. After a traumatic brain injury, I rebuilt my creative practice across multiple mediums — finding new ways to translate perception, silence, and persistence into art.
What kind of art do you make?
I work primarily in traditional oil painting, fine art photography, instrumental composition, and philosophical and hard science fiction writing. My subjects range from the sacred and natural to the psychological and existential — often exploring where beauty and decay meet.
Are your works for sale?
Yes, my paintings are for sale, however at this time I’m not set up for direct sale through this website. My works are available for exhibition or acquisition by request. Collectors and/or galleries can contact me.
Can I use or share your images or music?
Sharing my work for non-commercial, educational, or editorial purposes is welcome, provided credit is given to Erik Lassi and a link to eriklassi.net accompanies the material. For commercial or publication use, please contact me first for written permission.
How can I support your work?
You can support me by sharing the site, attending events, or making a donation. I’m not a registered nonprofit — all donations go directly toward sustaining the creative process, materials, and accessibility adaptations needed for me to continue working post-injury.
What’s the story behind the art?
Much of my work is autobiographical in the broad sense — drawn from lived experience, grief, and survival, but filtered through metaphor and symbol. Whether through image, music, or prose, it’s about confronting what endures when everything else falls away.
Do you collaborate?
Yes, especially in the past when I worked in team environments. However, since my injury I’ve pulled in focus to mostly solo efforts. Reach out through the contact page with your ideas.
How do I stay updated?
New projects, exhibitions, and essays are announced through this website either through Events or the Dispatches.
